Mahoney's Garden Center

This is my preferred garden center in the area because they offer a wide selection. However, the past 3 recent visits, the workers lack the customer service and friendliness when I politely ask questions. I returned an item which I believe had to go through a manager - he didn’t acknowledge me and acted like it was a pain to do. I have spend a lot over the years here and sadly these experiences has not made feel good leaving or continuing my business here. I hope Mahoneys can improve their customer service.

This Mahoney's location is beautiful. There are a lot of parking spaces, but this location is usually pretty busy, so the lot might seem full. However, there should still be some spots open. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Got a hydrangea and a couple rhododendrons, plus some garden soil and mulch. The prices were relatively reasonable, and they even sent a very helpful transplanting guide through email after the purchase. Would definitely recommend!

I came to Mahoney’s to find the perfect plant for my office. I was amazed by the variety of plants and accessories in stock - there was something for everyone’s unique taste there. Three different associates came to my assistance eager to help. A special shout out to Lenny S. who patiently helped me find the perfect plant and accessories. I would definitely return. I highly recommend this business.

Mahoney’s Garden Center in Brighton, Massachusetts, is one of several locations of the family-owned Mahoney’s Garden Centers, which have served New England since 1959. The Brighton location is a popular urban garden center offering a wide variety of plants, flowers, gardening tools, and seasonal décor. It’s located on Western Avenue and is known for its large greenhouse, helpful staff, and high-quality selection of perennials, annuals, shrubs, and trees. This location also offers soil, mulch, pottery, and gardening supplies, making it a one-stop shop for city gardeners. In the spring and summer, it’s especially vibrant with hanging baskets, vegetable starts, and flowering plants. In the fall, expect mums, pumpkins, and ornamental cabbages. Around the holidays, the shop transforms with fresh-cut trees, wreaths, garlands, and festive greenery. Mahoney’s in Brighton is a go-to for urban gardeners and plant lovers looking to bring a little more green into their lives—whether that’s a window box, a backyard bed, or just a potted herb on the kitchen counter.

Absolutely love this place! They have so many great options for indoor and outdoor plants and a fabulous selection of pots and decor. Most of my plants from here have been super healthy and happy. The new greenhouse expansion is my happy place!
